Black Belt Trainee Course

All Junior and Senior Black Belts are recommended to join the Black Belt Trainee Course & Trainers Refresher Course (for those who have attended before). Training is complimentary, no charge for students with a valid STAR.

Minimum Requirements
  • STA Junior 1st Dan Black Belt, or
  • STA Senior 1st Dan Black Belt
  • Have an active STAR number with minimum 6 months validity
  • Red 1 with Black Stripes are also welcomed to join

You Need to
  • Be safety conscious, Safety is Your First Priority
  • Attend 2 to 4 weeks Theory Training and
  • Followed by 3 to 9 months Understudy and Internship

After the Course
  • You become a Qualified Trainer
  • Receive an STA Trainer T-Shirt
  • Can assist at STA Grading and Events
  • Can join STA as a Part-time/temp/casual Trainer at centres of your choice
  • Potential to be a future STA Leader, Instructor, Examiner, Master

Grading Conditions and Information

Grading Application
  1. Apply online at www.tkd.sg/grading

Compulsory Items to Bring
  1. You may be asked for your STAR number and Expiry at the Grading.
  2. Sparring Gloves for Green, Blue, Red and Black Belts.
  3. Kick Hand Mitt for Blue and Red belts.
  4. Wear only approved STA White T-shirts with your uniform pants.
  5. Bring your full STA Uniform, Shirt and Belt.
  6. Tie your Belt Correctly, you may be asked to re-tie your belt if it is not worn properly.

Disqualification
Students may not be allowed to take their Grading if;
  1. Their Training/Class Fees due to the CC/RC/School/Club is not fully paid before the Grading.
  2. Grading Online Application & Fees was not submitted in advance before the Grading.
  3. Did not register or renew their STAR in advance before the Grading. 
  4. Did not train regularly at their training centre or did not meet the minimum training months required.
  5. Does not wear the approved STA Taekwon-do Uniform & STA T-shirt.
  6. Does not meet STA Regulations, Requirements and Conditions, www.tkd.sg/notice. 

Private Event
  1. STA Centralised Grading and Private Grading are Private Events for STA Students, Parents, Family & Friends only.
  2. Students & Parents may be required to show their STAR number at the Grading.
  3. Sorry, there is no entry to the Public.

  2. STA T-shirt White

Pre-Grading Training for Red Belts and Black Belts

  • To improve jump kicks and accuracy, sparring and patterns
  • You must be dedicated, willing to learn and upgrade yourself
